When Hurricane Helene swept through North Carolina, it left many families facing devastating loss and destruction. But where there’s heartbreak, there’s also an opportunity for hope—and Sandy Brown, from Bethany Village Home Health Care, is helping deliver just that.

Sandy spent a week in Boone, NC, volunteering with a disaster response team from Southbrook Christian Church. For seven days, the team worked tirelessly to remove debris, drywall, flooring, cabinets, and other household items from homes damaged by the storm.

“It truly means the world to me to be down here helping,” Sandy shared. “And to have the support of Graceworks is wonderful. I am so grateful to be part of an organization that is willing to invest in others. There is so much good among the heartbreak.”

Sandy’s efforts are supported through Graceworks’ BRIDGES initiative and the Employee Volunteer Action Program. This program provides eligible employees with up to 12 paid hours annually for volunteer service, enabling team members like Sandy to contribute their time and skills to causes close to their hearts.

At Graceworks, we believe in empowering our team members to extend Faithful Caring and compassion beyond their day-to-day roles. Sandy’s work in North Carolina is a powerful example of our shared commitment to creating a more loving, supportive world—one small act of grace at a time.

We are proud to stand with Sandy and all our team members who live out our values through service to others. Thank you, Sandy, for your selfless dedication and for bringing hope to those in need.
