Each year during the holiday season, Luther Community members receive an annual Christmas Basket through Lutheran Community Services.

Graceworks Service Coordinator LeAnnea Taylor assists with the application process for the program and helps coordinate distribution. To make things easier during the winter months, staff and volunteer helpers pick up the donated items so community members do not need to travel in cold weather.
This year’s baskets included canned and other non-perishable food items, along with a ham, bread, baking pans, and a small gift bag. Each basket is thoughtfully assembled to offer both practical support and cheer during the holidays.
For many, the baskets are more than food. They are a reminder that someone is paying attention, planning ahead, and making the season feel a little lighter. Year after year, community members express appreciation for the coordination and kindness behind the program.
The Community Christmas Baskets offer nourishment, connection, and reassurance during the winter season at Luther Community. It is one small but meaningful way faith comes to life at Luther Community through care for one another.
