When we work together, we can build something truly great; but sometimes, tearing it down is even more valuable. Recently, 10 Graceworks employees came together to volunteer at The Foodbank’s CANstruction event to help deconstruct several large-scale displays made

entirely of canned food. These impressive structures were on display at the Dayton Mall in October, raising awareness about hunger and supporting The Foodbank’s mission to help those in need.

The CANstruction event saw corporate teams from across the region creating intricate displays out of canned goods. Once the displays had served their purpose of raising awareness, Graceworks volunteers stepped in to take on the important task of breaking them down and preparing the food for distribution. Together, our team sorted and moved more than 10,000 cans, each one representing a small but critical piece of support for local families and individuals facing food insecurity.

These canned goods will now be distributed by The Foodbank to the community through weekly and mobile food pantries, where they’ll reach those who need them most. Events like CANstruction not only raise awareness but also provide real, tangible resources for local families struggling to put food on the table.

At Graceworks, we’re proud to partner with The Foodbank and are inspired by the mission to help fight hunger across our region. Thank you to all who participated—you’ve shown how powerful it CAN be when we come together to support our neighbors.
