One Library, Many Hearts

Throughout Graceworks communities, you’ll often find little and big touches of thoughtfulness that goes above and beyond what you might expect to see. It’s these little touches that make our communities more than home. But, if you zoom out farther, you’ll see these aren’t just touches, but fingerprints. Gifts out of compassion; intentional acts of kindness and community, given purposefully to enhance experiences for the people we serve.

At Bethany Village, one such fingerprint was left by Katie Depew, who recently moved from Courtyard Park as unit coordinator to the finance department. Katie has always made sure everyone feels cared for, but one of the most memorable ways she left her fingerprints on the community was through the creation of a shared library for the community members. The library contained a collection of curated books, tailored individually to persons and families living with dementia. These books include beautiful written stories and pictures specifically for adults, meant to provide stories for the soul, provided with dignity.

This Courtyard Park shared library is a reminder that even seemingly small touches can make a big difference. While Katie has moved into her new role as Resident Account Specialist, her thoughtful touch continues to leave an impact on the community, standing as a reflection of her commitment to Faithful Caring.
